I was recently contacted by Sleekens and asked to review their Portrait Perfection collection. In exchange for an honest review I was given the Photoshop ATN file for the Portrait Perfection workflow. The setup of the workflow in Photoshop was a breeze. If you’re familiar with Photoshop and installing actions (ATN files) then your already one step ahead of the game. Once I opened the workflow there were a total of 56 Portrait Photoshop Actions. As you can see from the image below you will have a catalog of items offering a one-click solution to editing your images.
I think what many photographers will like about the workflow of the Portrait Perfection actions is the quick, easy to use solution.
The workflow offers a collection of enhancing tones, color corrections, exposure corrections, portrait retouches and effects that make editing quite simple. I would say that most of the actions are pretty dead on to making it easy to use without the need for much editing after the action is initiated.
Here is another example of their Candy Store action that gives your photo a painterly effect. The before photo was straight out of camera and as you can see from the after photo you still have intergrity in the quality after the action is completed.
I’d have to say while I rather dont use actions or filters much, I think for the $49 price tag and all you get with the Sleekens Portrait Perfection workflow its a great deal. It would be a lifesaver for a photographer on a budget looking to simplify their editing process. It was a fast, non obtrusive and easy to use workflow. If you dont have time to create your own actions or want an affordable solution to your workflow, then the Sleekens Portrait Perfection is definitely a tool you shop keep handy!
